Camden County man gets three years in sex assault of Ventnor teen

  • News
A Camden County man who used a smartphone app to lure a Ventnor teen he then sexually assaulted was sentenced to three years in prison last week, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner announced Monday. Antonio Rodriguez was 21 when he used Kik — a phone application that lets people communicate through text without phone numbers — to talk with the girl who was between 13 and 16 in 2014. He then arranged to meet the girl in Ventnor, where the assault took place, according to the charges. The victim's name is not being released due to her age and the nature of the crime. Rodriguez was indicted Feb. 16, 2016, on two counts of second-degree sexual assault and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Superior Court Judge Michael Blee sentenced Rodriguez to three years in prison Friday. He also will have to register as a Megan's Law offender and be under parole supervision for life.
