A Galloway Township rapper known as Weez100 was shot multiple times in Absecon on Saturday night.
Police were called to Route 30 and Shore Road at about 7:30 p.m. for a shooting, police said.
They found a Nissan Altima with multiple bullet holes but no one inside.
A short time later, police got a call from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mainland Campus in Galloway Township, who reported that a gunshot victim had been driven there.
The 25-year-old rapper — whose real name is Laquan Rex — was suffering from 10 gunshot wounds, according to the report.
An investigation found that the Nissan was stopped at a red light when another vehicle pulled up next to it and started shooting.
A passerby found Rex, and drove him to the hospital, police said.
He was transferred to AtlantiCare’s City Campus in Atlantic City, where he underwent surgery. He is currently in intensive care.
The suspect’s vehicle was described only as a dark-colored, four-door sedan. No other information was immediately available.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-641-0667.
