Galloway Township police say it was a scene out of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” as donations meant for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program were stolen out of the township building’s lobby.
So, cue Dr. Seuss…
Overflowing with donations was the Toys for Tots bin,
As generous donations to Galloway Township came in.
But the U.S. Marines’ Christmas efforts were delayed
By a threesome, say police, who on gift-giving they preyed.
Into the lobby they came most unpleasant,
Around the gift bin, they took every present.
More than $300 was the estimated cost
For the presents that to so-called Grinches were lost.
But thanks to an investigation by Galloway police
The names of the alleged culprits were released.
“All three Grinches who tried to steal Christmas have been identified,” police said.
Yessica Portorreal, 22, and Yanilka Facenda-Almanzar, 24, both of Pleasantville, were arrested by Galloway police Thursday evening, and all the stolen toys recovered.
A third suspect, Kenneth Gray, 29, also of Pleasantville, is still wanted.
Detective Kerry Baerman and Officers Nicholas Stewart and Kaitlyn Reyes investigated the case.
Anyone who knows where Gray is should contact Baerman at 609-652-3705, ext. 320 or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
