The suspect in a Camden County murder investigation was killed by police in Millville on Saturday, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.
Jose Pietri, 55, was wanted in a shooting that killed a man in Winslow Township and wounded a woman.
Derek White, 47, was found fatally shot inside a Winslow Township residence early Saturday morning. A 26-year-old woman was seriously wounded, and is being treated at a nearby hospital, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Two children ages 2 and 3 were missing from the Winslow Township home since about 4:30 a.m., when they were last seen in the Salem County area with their father, a 55-year-old Pennsville man.
Police located the man — whose name has not yet been released — driving near the murder scene and started a chase, according to information from Camden County.
That chase made its way through Hamilton Township.
Shawna Lynn caught the black SUV as it raced by on Route 50 with 10 vehicles in pursuit.

The multi-agency chase ended in Millville, where the suspect was shot at about 9:10 a.m. on Holly Berry Lane in Millville, Webb-McRae said.
The missing children were found safe in Salem County at about 12:30 p.m.
The suspect’s shooting involved one Millville officer and two from Winslow Township in Camden County, Webb-McRae said.
A firearm was recovered near Pietri, the prosecutor announced Monday.
As per an attorney general directive, the matter is being investigated by the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office with assistance from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
