A woman was fatally shot outside her Bridgeton home early Saturday morning.
Erica McNair, 44, was on a porch in the 200 block of Walnut Street at about 1:30 a.m. when she was shot in the head, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. The residence is across the street from a daycare center.
McNair was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland then ground transported to Cooper Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries.
A preliminary investigation determined McNair was on her front porch with two subjects, according to the report. Multiple gunshots were fired and two unknown subjects were seen fleeing the area.
Numerous shell casings were recovered, Webb-McRae said
Bridgeton police and Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes detectives are investigating but are having problems getting witnesses to cooperate, the prosecutor said.
