A Sea Isle City man is charged in the sexual assault of a woman over the past two years.
Douglas Petock, 39, was arrested earlier this month on charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Sea Isle Police Chief Thomas McQuillen said.
Petock has previously competed in Philadelphia's recently ended Wing Bowl, where he was known to carry a light saber matching his Star Wars-inspired nickname, Obi Wing.
Sea Isle City police first learned of an ongoing investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police on Dec. 7. No details of that investigation have been released. State Police there did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Pennsylvania call sparked an investigation by Sea Isle City detectives, who found Petock sexually assaulted a woman in 2017 and 2018, according to the report.
Petock is charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and stalking.
At the time Petock was charged, he already was in the Cape May County Correctional Center on fugitive charges out of Ocean City, records show.
If convicted, Petock could face 10 to 20 years in prison on the aggravated charge and five to 10 years on the sexual assault and criminal sexual contact charges.
The investigation is ongoing, Sutherland said.
