Brigantine firefighters rescued a boater after his boat overturned in the bay late Sunday morning.
Alpha platoon responded to 12rh Street South, and a water response was initiated, firefighters said.
Firefighters launched a jet ski from the boat ramp at Sixth Street South and Bayshore Avenue wearing newly purchased cold-water rescue suits, according to the report.
The victim was found about 600 yards from shore.
The unnamed boater was loaded into a water rescue sled and brought back to shore, where he was loaded into an ambulance.
He was wearing a 5-mil neoprene wetsuit and life vest, and suffered only minor exposure as a result, firefighters said.
New Jersey State Police and Sea Tow were notified of the incident and of the stranded sailing vessel near the marsh.
The entire rescue took less than 15 minutes, firefighters said.
