A Pleasantville man has been charged with four counts of attempted murder in a shootout between two cars on the Atlantic City Expressway last year. Devan Leggette, 21, was allegedly driving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck, and was exchanging gunfire with a white Ford Expedition. A man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head Tuesday night. The shooting happened before 11 p.m. In the 100 block of North Texas Avenue, police said. A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody Monday morning, after barricading himself into a home in Pleasantville. A call of shots fired brought police to the home on the first block of Somerset Avenue at about 3:45 a.m., Capt. Matt Hartman said. The teen surrendered to the Atlantic County SWAT team at 6:30 a.m. He faces several charges. A weapon has not yet been recovered.

A “substantial heroin dealer” in the Atlantic City-Pleasantville area allegedly had guns and more than $140,000 worth of drugs in his shed, Attorney General Christopher Porrino announced. Terrance Harris, 37, of Pleasantville, was arrested Friday during a car stop that was the result of a long-term investigation by the Atlantic City Task Force. An Atlantic City male was arrested Sunday after stabbing another male. Officers Brian McKinney and James Andros were patrolling Atlantic Avenue when they were stopped just before 1 a.m., by a 48-year-old man who was bleeding. The victim said he had been stabbed. Through an investigation by the officers, the suspect was identified as Javier Urena-Polanco. Officers Sean Pettit and Tyler Daily located Urena-Polanco several blocks from the area and took him into custody. The
