A Mays Landing man was killed and three others wounded in a shooting Sunday night in Hamilton Township. Police were called to the Brandywood Townhomes at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday for multiple gunshot victims, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. Taufeeq Mitchell, 31, who grew up in Atlantic City’s Venice Park, was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus. Mitchell leaves behind three biological children and two stepchildren. No other victims were identified.
Two people killed in a shooting in Buena Borough early Saturday morning, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. Pleasantville police are investigating a shooting that wounded a 24-year-old Tuckerton man Friday afternoon. Marven Barreau, was shot while driving on Doughty Road at about 4 p.m., Capt. Matt Hartman said. He then crashed into a pole near Portland Avenue. Barreau suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Toms River police were justified in wounding a suspect who is accused of pulling a handgun on them in July, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
