Atlantic City man charged in girlfriend’s assault

An Atlantic City man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted and threatened his girlfriend while armed. Police were called to the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue at 8:19 a.m. Wednesday. They arrived to find the victim, who had been assaulted. Her boyfriend, Kareem Blocker, had fled, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officers Ed Obert, Robert Thompson, and Brendan Andros found him in a hotel room inside of Bally’s Hotel and Casino. He was arrested without incident.

Good Samaritan critically injured aiding victim in domestic assault

A Good Samaritan was critically injured when he helped a woman being assaulted by her boyfriend in Hamilton Township, police said. Calvin Wiggins was allegedly hitting his girlfriend along Route 40 near Cantillon Boulevard at about 10:45 a.m. Thursday, when a man passing by saw the violent incident and stopped to help, police said.
