Three pets killed in Galloway Township fire

Three pets were killed in a Galloway Township fire late Friday afternoon in the Ryan’s Ridge development. Police and detectives were first on the scene at Snow Mass Court at about 4:20 p.m., and found a fire that was spreading to a neighboring unit. Police immediately evacuated the complex, police said. Pennsylvania man sentenced to eight years in fatal 2015 crash

A Philadelphia man was sentenced to eight years in prison Friday for a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway that killed his passenger. Rashad Caswell pleaded guilty in April to aggravated manslaughter in the Feb. 28, 2015, crash. New Jersey State Police arrived at the scene just after 10 p.m. and found a car crashed into a tree at the end of a steep embankment on the eastbound side of the expressway near milepost 7.5.2018.

Local law enforcement carries a torch for the Special Olympics

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office had their own Olympian with Northfield resident Chelsea Cummings. The 25-year-old who works at the Northfield Wawa has participated in the games for the past five years, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Atlantic County sheriff’s officer will remain jailed in case involving text threats, guns

A suspended Atlantic County sheriff’s officer can have a few hours to see his dying father, but must otherwise remain jailed, a judge ruled Friday. Daniel Ginsburg, 44, of Galloway Township, was arrested April, after he allegedly sent threatening text messages to his girlfriend as he drove around with guns in his trunk, threatening to kill her and any officers who came after him. Pleasantville hit-and-run leaves man in critical condition

Pleasantville police are investigating a hit and run that left a pedestrian in critical condition early Thursday morning. Willie Henderson was walking across the Black Horse Pike near the Good Year when he was struck by a white car that was headed west just after midnight, Capt. Frank Balles said. The car did not stop. Henderson, who is in his 50s, was taken to the Trauma Unit at AtantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.

Two additional juveniles have been charged in a fight that apparently started in a Hamilton Township neighborhood and ended with a riot that closed the Hamilton Mall. An Atlantic City man died as the result of an attempted armed robbery his killer’s brother admitted in court Thursday. Kevin Quince, 29, admitted that he and his now-deceased brother rode their bicycles to Steven Loughney’s Atlantic City home Jan. 3, 2016, in a robbery attempt. An Egg Harbor Township man is charged with receiving images of child sexual abuse. Matthew Wolny, 40, was arrested by federal agents Thursday, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.
