Woman killed in Atlantic City Expressway crash

  • News
A four-car crash just before the toll plaza shutdown the eastbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway for a short time.

A Pennsylvania woman died as the result of a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway on Tuesday afternoon.
A Freightliner and Chevy Blazer had just exited the Pleasantville toll plaza when the collision occurred at 2:48 p.m., according to the report.
Truck driver Kenneth Loux, 64, of Bellmawr, Camden County, was in the E-ZPass express lane while Noreen Green was to the right when the Freightliner struck her driver's side.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Trooper Charles Marchan said.
Green, 71, of Gettysburg, Pa., was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, Marchan said.
Her 72-year-old husband, Raymond, and two minors, ages 6 and 4, suffered minor injuries. Loux also had minor injuries, Marchan said.
About an hour later, there was a four-vehicle crash around mile marker 5.1, just before the toll plaza.
There were no serious injuries in that crash, which closed all eastbound lanes for a time, Marchan said.
The cause of that crash is under investigation.
