  • News

Tracking a Fed Ex driver’s phone helped lead Galloway Township police to his stolen truck.
Gregorio Procopio first tried to steal a vehicle from from the Bacharach Rehabilitation Center, according to police.
AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s security called police just before 11 a.m. Thursday for a man trying to steal a vehicle, according to the report.
Security chased the man — described as a whilte male in black short and a green shirt — until they lost sight of him near the Starbucks in Sunrise Plaza.
A short time later, a Federal Express delivery driver reported that his 2012 Freightliner had been stolen while he was making a deliver in the 300 block of Chris Gaupp Drive.
Since the driver’s phone was still inside the vehicle, police were able to use the GPS, and track it to the north end of Mannheim Avenue, according to the report.
Procopio, 30, of Lindenwold, was taken into custody and charged with unlawful taking of a means of conveyance and criminal mischief.
Procopio also has a pending case out of Middlesex County, according to court records. But details were not available.
He was released on a summons and the Fed Ex driver got his truck back.
Galloway police thank the hospital security staff at ARMC’s Mainland Campus and Federal Express for their help.
