Ninth day with no COVID deaths in Atlantic County

Atlantic County reported no new COVID-19 deaths for the ninth day in a row Monday.
There were 18 newly confirmed cases Monday, including a 6-year-old boy and 2-month-old girl.
health officials reported 18 new cases of Covid-19 today among nine males, ages 6-83, and nine females, ages 2 months – 83, but no additional fatalities for the ninth consecutive day.
There ere also 84 more residents listed as recovered, bringing the total to 2,141 of the 3,674 confirmed cases, or just more than 58 percent.
The new confirmations included three each in Egg Harbor Township, Hammonton and Pleasantville, and two in Hamilton Township.
Absecon, Atlantic City, Buena Borough, Estell Manor, Northfield, Port Republic and Ventnor each reported on new case.
Atlantic County will continue to provide testing at its drive-thru facility Tuesday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. behind the county Public Works yard in Northfield at Route 9 and Dolphin Avenue.
Testing requires only an appointment and proof of residency. Doctor's prescriptions or symptoms of the virus are no longer required.
Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel no less than 24 hours in advance so others may have an opportunity to fill those spots.

At this time, labs throughout the state are experiencing delays in reporting results due to the high volume of testing.
Health officials also remind residents to continue to remain vigilant to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19. This includes wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds, washing hands frequently and sanitizing common-touch areas, and answering the call if contacted by contact tracers.
