Five arrested, gun and drugs seized in Atlantic City raid

  • News

Five people were arrested in a raid at an Atlantic City home that led to drugs and a gun.
Residents complaints about drug activity at the home in the first block of South Florida Avenue led to a months-long investigation that targeted Justin Suarez, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Police arrested Suarez, 35, along with two other men and two women after finding 436 grams of marijuana, 310 bags of heroin, 15 grams of cocaine and more than $3,400 in cash along with drug-distribution materials, including wax folds, mixers, a cutting agent and Narcan.
Suarez was charged with drug offenses and money laundering, along with maintaining a drug-production facility.
Also charged with drug offenses and money laundering were: Chelsea Mora, 27, of Absecon; Keith Potter, 58, of Galloway Township, and Atlantic City residents Zachary Russell, 46, and Sierra Self, 27.
Mora additionally had a contempt of court warrant.
All five were released on summonses.
A loaded handgun was also found in a room that was not rented. That is still being investigated, police told BreakingAC.
The investigation was led by Detective James Barrett.
Anyone with information about drug distribution in the city is asked to call the Police Department's Special Investigations Section at 609-347-5858. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
