A Pleasantville teen died after he was struck crossing the street Sunday night.
Jamal Hughes, 16, was crossing New Road between Lafayette and Shaw avenues at about 9:30 p.m., Lt. Stacey Schlachter said.
A Barnegat man traveling south on New Road struck the teen. Then a second vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old from Absecon, also struck him, according to the report.
Hughes was rushed to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.
No summonses have been issued at this time.
The investigation is being conducted by Traffic Safety Officer Charlie Ellis and Detective Juan Morillo.
