Atlantic County man gets 12 years for gun-trafficking

  • News

An Atlantic County man was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for trafficking and possessing multiple firearms.
Brandon Groce, 37, of Newtonville, previously pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of illegally engaging in the business of dealing in firearms and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig said.
Between February and September 2019, Groce met with an individual six different times at a parking lot in Paulsboro, Gloucester County, according to court documents.
At each meeting, Groce sold at least one firearm and ammunition for cash. He did not have a license to sell firearms, and had five previous felony convictions, including a firearms offense, resisting arrest and three drug convictions.
U.S. District Judge Robert Kugler sentenced him to 151 months in federal prison.
Groce then will have to serve three years of supervision upon his release.

NOTE: Mugshots are not released for federal prisoners.
