Johnny Carter has been acting for 14 years.
Now the Atlantic City native is premiering his own movie on the big screen in Mays Landing, and celebrating with an afterparty in his hometown.
"Faceblocked" takes a twist on Catfishing, telling a tale of how an Atlantic City couple is affected.
Carter, known as Noon Bornstar, said he wanted to be able to share his movie locally.
So, he got to work and was able to get the group at the Regal Hamilton Commons to give his movie a showing.
"There was a process, but it was done without an issue," Carter said.
"They were very excited about it because they said this doesn't happen down here," he said. "They were very supportive."
Tickets are on sale for the Thursday night premiere, with a limit of 200. Tickets are $25 with Red Carpet pictures starting at 7:30 p.m. and showtime at 8:30 p.m.
Bourre in Atlantic City will then host an afterparty at 10:30 p.m., with entry at $40 ahead and $50 at the door.
Entertainment includes Omillio Sparks, GR8 Minds, Luv Daddy, Young Dolla and Don Don from the Courts.
Manager Stephen Weiss said Carter just came into Bourre one day and asked about having the celebration there.
"He gave me a rundown of the movie and its connection to A.C., and how he's from (here)," Weiss said. "He wanted to make sure everyone has a great time and gets home safe."
Carter grew up in the since-razed Six Bedrooms.
"With Johnny being from Atlantic City, I did push harder to get his request approved," Weiss said.
Bourre also has a connection: one of the actors in the movie is a server there, Patrick Jeanty.
The movie has other local talent, with Lonique Spellman and Kassan Harper having parts.
There is a also a celebrity factor.
Carter used Instagram to get in touch with Khalil Kain, who made his own movie debut in 1992's "Juice" as Raheem.
A mentor then helped him get "Love & Hip Hop: New York" start Tahiry Jose, who stars in "Love & Hip Hop: New York."
Carter got to see a special preview at the movie theater, and says it inspired him.
"It motivated me to keep going," he said. "I told myself, I want this forever. It showed me, if you work hard, the sky's the limit."
