'Victim' may have fabricated Pleasantville robbery, police say

  • News
A man who told police he was stabbed and robbed of $800 in Pleasantville may have made up the story, police say. The unnamed man called police just before 9:30 a.m. and said he was stabbed in the arm and assaulted by two men in the 400 block of South Main Street, Capt. Matt Hartman said. About $800 was also reportedly taken. But an investigation by patrol and the Criminal Investigation Section found the wounds appeared to be self-inflicted and the original call to be fabricated, Hartman said. The incident is still under investigation, and charges are pending. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-641-6100.
