Pleasantville police officer revives unconscious infant

  • News
Marlon Hernandez Marlon Hernandez A Pleasantville police officer is credited with saving a baby's life earlier this month. Officer Marlon Hernandez responded to the first block of South Main Street just before 4 a.m. Oct. 5, and found a 22-day-old baby boy not breathing and with no pulse, according to the police report. Hernandez immediately started cardio pulmonary resuscitation, and continued for several minutes, until the baby was breathing on his own, Capt. Matt Hartman said. This officer's heroics managed to save the life of the infant, thanks to his response and training. There are many first responders out there who can save lives due to their training given by places similar to this
CPR training course in London. First Responder training is one of the many life-saving courses available to professionals whether they experience life-saving situations regularly or not. Tricare and AtlantiCare medical personnel arrived and continued caring for the boy. "Officer Hernandez's quick response and training allowed him to conduct infant CPR in a timely manner and save the life of the baby," Hartman said. "(He) is to be commended for his calm and professionalism in the face of a harrowing situation and is a perfect example of the outstanding officers of the Pleasantville Police Department."
