A Pleasantville man is now the sixth person arrested in a shootout on the Atlantic City Expressway that ended with one man dead and four wounded.
Wilbert Demosthene, 25, was charged Tuesday, just more than two weeks after the gun battle shortly two of the men had hearings at the Atlantic County Criminal Courthouse in Mays Landing on Aug. 29.
Demosthene was in a third car that police quickly tied to the shooting, and recovered in Pleasantville two days later.
Inside the car was blood that matched Demosthene's.
He was found in a Philadelphia hospital, with a bullet wound to his right arm, State Police said.
On Tuesday, State Police and Pleasantville detectives found Demosthene at a Willard Avenue residence.
He was arrested without incident, and charged with various weapons offenses, including possession by a convicted felon.
He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment to an infection where he was shot.
After being treated, Demosthene was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $250,000 bail.
