A man was injured when he was impaled by a fence while running from a dog Sunday. K.C. Banks, 38, was running from the dog at about 2:30 p.m. in the 100 block of West Ridgewood Avenue, when he tried to jump a fence and was injured on the right side of his torso, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
The call first came in as a stabbing, but that was ruled out by medical personnel and responding officers, Hartman said.
