EHT man arrested for setting home on fire

  • News
An Egg Harbor Township man was arrested Thursday for allegedly setting his home on fire. Firefighters and police responded to a fire at about 10:30 p.m. In the Oxford Village Condos on Old Egg Harbor Road in the township's Farmington section, Lt. Robert Gray said. The Farmington and Cardiff fire companies got the fire under control. Everyone inside the residence got out safely. An investigation determined that the fire had been intentionally set inside the residence, Gray said. The suspect, homeowner Brian Marrone, 34, initially could not be found at the scene but was located by Officer Brett Fair in the area and taken into custody. Marrone was charged with aggravated arson, arson and criminal mischief. Marrone was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Detectives Robert Harte and Jeffery Lancaster investigated the incident.
