Photo courtesy of Tarhik Richardson An Atlantic City woman was charged with neglect to care for a child after she crashed her car into a building and then fled with an infant. Police were called to 3301 Arctic Ave. just after 11 p.m. Saturday for the report of a vehicle striking a building, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officers arrived to find the vehicle empty and the occupant had fled. Officers learned that the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and collided with the building. Video surveillance showed the woman remove an infant child from the back seat, and run, according to a witness. An investigation by Officer Joseph Bereheiko identified the driver as 29-year-old Nicole Torres. Officers began searching for Torres and baby, while Atlantic City firefighters responded to evaluate the structural damage to the building, Fair said. Torres was located Sunday. Neither she nor the child was injured in the collision. She was charged with several motor vehicle violations and given a future court date. [gallery columns="2" ids="8540,8570"]
