An Atlantic City man admitted to inappropriate sexual contact with a 9-year-old.
Montgomery Bishop, 52, pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault Thursday before Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury for an incident that occurred Aug. 5, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
Bishop admitted to engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with the victim for the purpose of humiliating or degrading the child.
Under the plea agreement, Bishop will be sentenced to five years in prison under the No Early Release Act, meaning he will have to serve at least 85 percent before he is eligible for parole.
He also will be required to register as a Megan’s Law offender and will have parole supervision for life.
His sentencing is currently scheduled for May 31, but sex crime sentencings often are put off as evaluations have to be done first.
The case was a joint investigation between Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and Atlantic City police.
