House, car struck by gunfire in Atlantic City

A house and car were struck by gunfire in Atlantic City on Friday night. The 7 p.m. shooting was the first of four shots fired calls police dealt with overnight. There were no reported injuries. One person was taken into custody but no details have been released at this time. The first was in the 400 block of N. North Carolina Avenue. At least one round went through a house, but no one was injured, police said. Police arrived at the scene and were able to locate the intended victim, who was uninjured. But then they reported hearing more gunshots, and believed they were being aimed at them. Residents were told to stay inside their homes. There was a third shots fired call on the 1300 block of Drexel Avenue at 11:47 p.m. Police took someone into custody during a high-risk stop. There was still another shots fired call at about 3 a.m. in the 200 block of New Jersey Avenue. Anyone with information any of the shooting incidents is asked to call police at 609-347-5766 or Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234.
