Atlantic City teen pleads to murder attempt, escape

  • News

An Atlantic City teen who escaped juvenile detention while being held on an attempted murder charge pleaded guilty to multiple charges Wednesday.
Raymir Lampkin, 17, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, escape and two counts of burglary, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said Friday.
He faces a total of 16 years in prison with a mandatory 11 years.
Lampkin shot at a vehicle Sept. 19, 2016, striking the front seat passenger.
Police located the vehicle with significant gunfire damage to the passenger side, which caused both the rear and front seat passenger windows to shatter completely.
The victim underwent surgery.
While being held in Harborfields on those charges, Lampkin was one of four teens who escaped Nov. 15, 2017.
While fleeing custody on foot, the teens burglarized two homes in Egg Harbor City.
During one, they stole a rifle and clothes, according to the charges.
