A Toms River woman is charged with three counts of animal cruelty after allegedly abandoning three dogs later found dead.
Lacey Township police were called to a township home Nov. 11, for the report that dogs may have been left in the vacant residence, according to information released by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Lacey Township Police Chief Michael DiBella.
Allissa DeStefano, 29, was arrested Thursday without incident.
She was processed at the Lacey Township Police Department and released on a summons.
