Atlantic City man injures officers trying to arrest him, police say

  • News

An Atlantic City man wanted for kicking in his ex-girlfriend's front door was arrested after fighting several officers Monday, police said.
Officer Jamar Dabney was doing a park and walk in the 1400 block of Adams Court when he recognized Khalil Washington from a wanted flyer, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Washington, 35, was accused of kicking in the unnamed woman's door the day before and threatening to have her assaulted, according to the report.
Washington fought Dabney as he tried to arrest him, Fair said.
Several more officers arrived after a few minutes and Washington was arrested, he said.
Dabney and two other officers were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for minor injuries.
Washington is charged with burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
