The Attorney General’s Office is investigating the death of an Atlantic County jail inmate, a spokeswoman has confirmed.
The inmate died at a local hospital, Linda Gilmore told BreakingAC.
She did not identify the inmate.
Gilmore said no further information is being released at this time.
But BreakingAC has confirmed it was Mario Terruso Jr., 41, of Mays Landing.
A status posted on the Facebook account of a man currently listed in custody at the Atlantic County Justice Facility said that Terruso died in admissions, begging for water and to be taken to the hospital.
No one responded to messages to that account nor others that shared it.l
A family member told BreakingAC that they were not ready to comment.
