Atlantic City man dies from COVID-19

An Atlantic City man is the latest county resident to die of the coronavirus, officials said.The 42-year-old man had underlying health conditions. It is the resort's second death attributed to COVID-19.The county had 24 newly confirmed cases Friday, including a 13-year-old boy.The total county residents testing positive is now 222, with seven deaths.The new cases consist of 14 males, ages 13 to 63 and 10 women, ages 31 to 91. Egg Harbor Township tops the list with four newly confirmed cases, bringing the total to 42, with four deaths.Galloway and Hamilton townships also have four new cases, Atlantic City has three, with two each from Hammonton and Weymouth, and one each from Buena, Buena Vista Township, Folsom, Mullica and Pleasantville.

Atlantic County will provide COVID-19 drive-thru testing for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription next Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.Appointments can be made on the county website: https://www.atlantic-county.org/covid/
