Egg Harbor Township police are looking for two women caught on video taking lawn decorations belonging to a local child.
The homeowner shared the video on Facebook, saying the fairy houses belonged to her daughter, including one the girl decorated herself.
A car is seen pulling into the driveway, and then two women get out.
They run up to the lawn, and each takes two before running back to their car and driving away.
"Hate that my daughter had to have little piece of her innocence lost," the mom told Cat Country, who first reported the crime.
But while the day started out with ugliness, the outpouring from the community has restored some of that lost magic, the mom told BreakingAC.
"I have had several people offer to replace and make a new fairy house for my daughter with their children," she said. "A couple local businesses (are) offering to bring a fairy house too.
"My heart is so warmed to be able to show her people aren't all ugly," she added.
