A driver for a rideshare company was attacked by his passengers who fled in his vehicle, Absecon police said.
Police were called to the Absecon Marketplace just after 5 p.m. Christmas Eve, for the report of a carjacking, according to the report.
The driver, whose name was not released, told police a black man and woman in their 20s wearing dark clothing and face coverings repeatedly punched and then tasered him, police said.
He was able to run from the vehicle with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The two then fled west on the White Horse Pike in the victim’s vehicle, according to the report.
The crime is under investigation by Absecon’s Criminal Investigation Division.
