Sheriff's officers involved in Pleasantville crash

  • News

Three people were taken to the hospital in a crash Wednesday in Pleasantville.

Atlantic County Sheriff's Officer Malcolm Brown pulled out of the Wawa to turn left onto Delilah Road when an eastbound vehicle collided with the first vehicle's driver side bumper, Capt. Stacey Schlachter said.

Brown's rear passenger, 48-year-old Andrew Freeto of Margate, complained of knee and leg pains. Freeto is also a sheriff's officer, Schlachter said.

He along with Brown, 43, of Mays Landing, and Sheriff's Officer Joshua Pennington, 28, of Linwood, were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Martinez, 22, of Pleasantville, and her 12-year-old passenger refused treatment at the scene.

Police officers were assisted by Tricare EMS. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Anyone one with any information about the crash please is asked to contact Sgt. Steven Sample at ssample@pleasantvillepd.org.
