A Mays Landing man was sentenced to five years in prison for distributing videos of children in prohibited sexual acts.
William Edson, 22, must serve the entire five years before he can be released.
An investigation led to detectives linking about 700 videos shared by Edson, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Videos matching those shared online were ultimately found on devices seized from Edson, and he admitted to detectives that he had shared the videos via his KIK account.
Edson pleaded guilty Jan. 11, and was sentenced Thursday.
He will have to register as a Megan’s Law offender upon his release, and will be subject to parole supervision for life.
Edson is currently in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
