Philly man gets 20 years for killing Pleasantville man

  • News

A Philadelphia man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for fatally shooting a Pleasantville man in 2020.

Teddy Smith, 42, pleaded guilty in March to aggravated manslaughter in the killing.

A ShotSpotter alert brought Pleasantville police to the 100 block of North First Street at about 6:20 p.m. May 1, 2020.

They found Nathan Adcock, 25. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Surveillance and witnesses led to Smith as the shooter.

He was arrested Nov. 6, 2020, at a parole office in Philadelphia.

Smith admitted to aggravated manslaughter March 22, and faced 18 to 20 years in prison under the agreement.

He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, or 17 years, before he is eligible for parole.

Smith has served about 2½ years.
