A Galloway Township man is jailed after an Atlantic City car stop led to a gun reported stolen from Florida.
Daquann Smith, 23, was stopped after Detectives Nicholas Berardis and Christopher Smith saw him on a bicycle speaking with two women in a parked vehicle Friday., Fair said.
They stopped the vehicle after it pulled away, and found a bag inside with a loaded handgun and identification for Smith, according to the report.
Smith arrived on his bike and the motor vehicle stop, and acknowledged that the bag belonged to him, Fair said. The handgun had been reported stolen from Gainesville, Fla.
The women were released with no charges. Smith is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on several weapons offenses along with receiving stolen property.
