The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is conducting on-the-spot interviews from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday for those interested in part-time work as animal assistants.

Want to bring an animal home to be a member of the family?
This weekend, the shelter is celebrating "Clear the Shelter" by waiving adoption fees from Saturday through Monday.
Potential pet owners can visit the shelter from 1 to 4 p.m. any day to see the variety of dogs and cats available for adoption.
Regular adoption fees range from $85 for cats and kittens to $110 for dogs and puppies and include mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation.
Canines adopted from the shelter are also provided free obedience classes.
