The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a man and recovered a handgun after he threatened a woman.
Eric Teasley, 32, is accused of threatening the woman with a gun in front of two children, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Teasley was allegedly extremely agitated as he went in and out of the residence in the 300 block of North Connecticut Avenue.
Patrol officers responded at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday, and detained Teasley, Fair said.
Officer Joseph Kelly found a handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition in the kitchen, according to the report.
Teasley insisted he did not have a weapon during a brief court appearance Thursday.
"Someone called and said I was armed when they seen them. I wasn't armed," he said via video from the jail.
The judge then stopped him from continuing to talk, saying he was scheduled for a detention hearing Tuesday.
"I was never read my rights," Teasley then said.
Teasley will remain in the Atlantic County Justice Facility until at least Tuesday.
