Atlantic City, Pleasantville merge municipal courts

  • News

Atlantic City and Pleasantville have merged their municipal courts.

The move mimics one taken by other Atlantic County municipalities last year in forming a county municipal court hearing cases out of the old Superior Courthouse in Mays Landing.

The Joint Atlantic City Municipal Court “marks efforts to enhance municipal court services in both municipalities,” Court Director Gina Holmes said. “We worked diligently with the Atlantic City Business Administrator’s Office and Solicitor’s Office to make this come to fruition, knowing this will result in savings for our taxpayers.”

Atlantic City residents will see no change to the regular day-to-day Municipal Court operations.

Pleasantville residents scheduled for court in Pleasantville will now have to report to Atlantic City at the Public Safety Building.

Questions can be directed to the court office at 609-347-5560.
