Longport police investigating vehicle burglary

  • Crime-Courts

Police are continuing their investigation into a report Monday morning of a vehicle burglary on the 100 block of Pelham Avenue.

Two male suspects were seen on surveillance camera footage exiting a black SUV and attempting to burglarize a white Mercedes parked in the driveway at the residence, according to a press release.

Police were unable to determine if any property was removed from the vehicle and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects and the black SUV involved.

The footage was unclear and provided a limited view of the suspects' faces and the SUV’s vehicle registration, Lt. Ray Burgan said.

Residents of the neighborhood are asked to check their surveillance footage and contact police if the burglary attempt was captured on video.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigating Officer Matthew Long at 609-822-2141 or email long_matthew@longportpd.org.

“Remember to always lock your vehicles and remove any valuable items to prevent becoming a victim of vehicle burglary,” Burgan said. “Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.”
