The public is invited to meet and greet the artists exhibiting at Holtzman Gallery’s Black History Month exhibit at the Marjorie and Lewis Katz Jewish Community Center this week.
A reception will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 501 N. Jerome Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
The exhibit, “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” will be on display through March 5 and features the works of Jose Sebourne, John Morris, Valeria J. Marcus, Earl Parker, S.W. Wells, John Wolfe and others.
Holtzman Gallery hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
“It not only pays respect to Black history but also celebrates the creative innovations of the future,” gallery owner David Holtzman said.
The exhibit is designed to motivate the next generation of creative artistic innovators. All of the fine art pieces are available for purchase.
The reception will feature remarks by Atlantic City Councilman Kaleem Shabazz, music by the “Shore Jazz Project,” complimentary wine, beverages and light fare.
