Members of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol helped give care to an unresponsive infant on the beach last week.
Lifeguards responded to a baby in distress on the Michigan Avenue beach, police said Friday.
Lt. Thomas Flynn was first on scene and initiated immediate medical care, according to the report. He was assisted by Capt. Vince Granese, Lt. Kyle Deroo and Lifeguard Nick Guidara.
They gave the baby care until the infant could be safely transported to the Boardwalk, where an ambulance was waiting.
The infant was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus to be treated for a non-life-threatening condition.
The Atlantic City Beach Patrol will be on duty between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
