A.C. police arrest three Galloway teens in stolen car

  • Crime Courts

Atlantic City's police technology helped arrest three juveniles in a stolen vehicle.

The automated license plate reader system notified police that a vehicle reported stolen had entered the city, Capt. Kevin Fair said.

Officers Riley Flynn and Casey Tomasello located a stolen vehicle just before 5 p.m. Friday on Route 30, according to the report. It had been reported stolen from Neptune, Monmouth County.

The driver sped off when the officers tried to stop him, Fair said. The pursuit was terminated due to the safety of the public.

Surveillance Center personnel were able to quickly locate the vehicle, which crashed at Kentucky and Marmora avenues, according to the report.

Officers arrived to find the stolen car crashed into a parked vehicle, and saw three teens flee the area.

Officers Marquez Jones, Julian Monsalve and William Harned assisted in arresting all three boys.

The 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds were charged with joyriding, receiving stolen property and obstruction.

The two older teens were remanded to a juvenile facility.

The 15-year-old was released to a parent.
