Atlantic County released more coronavirus recoveries than confirmations Tuesday.There were 42 residents newly confirmed to have of COVID-19, health officials said.There were 51 added as cleared, for a total of 249.The county now has had 1,184 cases, including 51 deaths.The newly confirmed cases included eight men, ages 45 to 93 and 34 women, ages 17 to 97. The cases include nine Galloway Township residents, six each in Absecon and Atlantic City and five in Hammonton.
There were four new cases in Egg Harbor Township, three in Hamilton Township had three, and two each in Buena Vista Township and Northfield.
Buena Borough, Linwood, Margate, Pleasantville and Somers Point each had one new case.
Atlantic County will continue its drive-thru testing on Thursday, by appointment, for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription, proof of residency and appointment confirmation.
The county already had tested nearly 700 residents, with 27.1 percent testing positive. The statewide rate has been more than 40 percent.
Atlantic County will have additional drive-thru testing dates for next Tuesday and Thursday, which are by appointment only and require symptoms and a doctor's prescription.They will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing. Those who had appointments for April 30, which was canceled, can come at the same time Monday.
Residents may make an appointment for testing online at www.aclink.org. In addition to the doctor’s prescription, residents must also provide proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, as well as the appointment confirmation.
As always, those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so that others will have an opportunity to be tested.
