Five alternatives to brunch for mom around Atlantic City

  • Things To Do

It’s Mother’s Day weekend.

If you are still full from your Easter brunch, are gluten-free or mom isn’t an early riser, here are five alternative ways to spend time with each other this weekend before the big day that don’t include breakfast.

The Princess of Pop

Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this.”

But it’s here.

Kelly Clarksonis taking Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena by storm at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

You may know her from American Idol. You may know her from her talk show.

But you definitely know her.

Here’s your chance to see the self-made crooner from Fort Worth, Texas, right off our famous Boardwalk.

It’s crunch time for tickets.

With just a few left in each section, it’s time to pull the trigger if Mom wants to go for Mother’s Day. I can’t promise anything. But if you take her to this show, she’ll probably let you sleep in on Sunday.

White wedding

As the song from A Chorus Line goes, “Everything was beautiful at the ballet, graceful men lift lovely girls in white.”

The Atlantic City Ballet’s production of La Sylphide will no doubt follow suit.

La Sylphide’s plot, like most classics, is a love story. However, it’s not as simple as boy meets girl.

What fun would that be?

Set in the Scottish Highlands, our hero James makes a ton of bad choices thanks to the temptations of a sprite from the spirit world — the sylphide.

This one-night-only production ignites the stage at Caesars Palace, inside the Circus Maximus Theater, at 8 p.m. Friday.

Pro Tip: AC residents, veterans, active military personnel and first responders can purchase $20 tickets by contacting the ballet at atlanticcityballet@gmail.com.

The Atlantic City Ballet is a 501-c3 organization. If you would like to pay the full fare for the show, CLICK HERE.

Run for the rosé

Enjoy a very special happy hour with Mom at Bottled inside Ocean Casino Resort.

At 6:30 p.m. Friday, you can take in all the spring fun of Ruffino Wines and fabulous flowers.

You and Mom will be guided by Ruffino experts through a tasting of Ruffino Prosecco Rosé and Ruffino Moscato. As you sip, a floral designer will teach you how to make a splendid arrangement.

Have you seen the cost of flower delivery with all those extra fees lately?

At $55, it’s cheaper to take her to this. And if your relationship is strained with any of the ladies in your life, hey, at least you’ll be drinking wine while you’re spending time together!

A musical Mother's Day

Get a group of the ladies in your life together for a magical evening at the historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall Saturday night at 7. Your mom, wife, aunt and grandmother will thank you.

Mother's Day Music Festival 2024 is sure to please the music-loving ladies in your life.

The mega lineup includes Kem, SWV, Dru Hill, and Silk. All are known for their signature R&B sound. Enjoy four soulful performances for one price.

It's Pat!

A family that laughs together stays together.

Why not bring Mom to see the edgy and hilarious comedian Pat Williams in Ms. Pat- Ya Girl Done Made It at Harrah's on Saturday?

Enjoy the wit behind The Ms. Pat Show And The Patdown with Ms.Pat.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at just $29.50. Again, cheaper than flowers and the memories will last longer than any bloom.

Hurry, there aren’t  many tickets left in this intimate venue.

Reserve tickets HERE.

Whether it’s music, dance, comedy or just plain old day drinking, there’s an event in town to keep Mom smiling and you in her good graces.
