Three arrested in Atlantic City assault, armed robbery

Three teens were arrested Sunday night after they allegedly assaulted and robbed a man at gunpoint in Atlantic City.
The 26-year-old victim from Egg Harbor Township stopped Officers Christopher Dodson and Tahsin Chowdhury at about 11:30 p.m. in the are of Morris and Atlantic avenues, telling them he had just been assaulted by three men who demanded his cell phone at gunpoint, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The man gave them his bank debit card and the men fled, according to the report.
Officers Christian Ivanov and Daniel Arra then saw three men who matched the description of the suspects in the 3300 block of Arctic Avenue.
When the officers tried to stop them, one ran and Ivanov chased him, and saw him discard what turned out to be a loaded gun, Fair said.
The suspect — a 17-year-old from Atlantic City — slipped on the icy road and was arrested.
Arra arrested the other two men, identified as Darnell Carter, 18, of Egg Harbor City, and Jawaun Yeoman, 19, of Somers Point.
Each was charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, conspiracy and possession of a defaced firearm.
The two older teens were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The juvenile was additionally charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of justice. He was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center in Egg Harbor City.
