Toddler among four hospitalized in Hamilton crash

  • News
Four people, including a toddler, were hospitalized after a three-car crash in Hamilton Township. Maya Sarafova, 21, of Egg Harbor Township, was traveling west on the Black Horse Pike in a Hyundai Sonata just after 11 a.m. Monday, when she crashed into a car stopped waiting to make a left turn near milepost 45, police said. After striking the Chevy Spark driven by George Ramp, Sarafova's vehicle then crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a 2010 Chrysler 300 driven by Shellise Jenkins, 32, of Williamstown. Cinonne Jenkins, 59, and a 2-year-old boy were also in Jenkins' vehicle, according to the report. Sarafova and the Jenkinses were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment. The 2-year-old was taken via helicopter to Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware for treatment. Ramp, 71, of Egg Harbor City, was treated at the scene. Assisting at the scene were the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, Galloway Township Rescue Squad, Egg Harbor Township Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics, Laureldale, Mays Landing and Cologne Fire Departments, and AtlantiCare Medivac. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Larry Fernan at 609-625-2700, ext. 575.
