Missing Atlantic City man found safe

  • News

An Atlantic City man missing for three weeks has been found safe.
Lewis Saunders had not been heard from since March 29, when he left his home telling his roommate he had some business to take care of.
But after a story on him missing ran in BreakingAC, Saunders got in touch with his family, sister Felishia Sessoms said Monday.
She thanked all those who had helped in looking for her brother and sent prayers and encouragement that he be found safe.
Saunders family said it was not like him to just leave without telling anyone.
They realized he was missing March 31, when they tried reaching out for his 50th birthday.
Then, he never called as his mother's and two sisters' brithdays passed.
“He would never miss his mother’s birthday,” said longtime friend Angela Burton.
“It’s completely unlike him,” said Felishia Sessoms, who turned 38 while her brother was missing.
Saunders' roommate told Sessoms that he and her brother both got off work at A.C. Linen on March 29.
When they got home, the roommate asked Saunders to go to the store for him.
“I can’t go right now, I have some business to take care of,” said Saunders, who was holding papers.
The roommate then went to take a shower, and returned to find Saunders gone.
“He assumed the ride he was waiting for came,” Sessoms told BreakingAC. “My brother was never seen or heard from again.”
But after Saunders heard that his family was looking for him, he was able to get in touch with them to tell them he was safe.
No details about where he was are being released.
