  • News

An Atlantic City man has been arrested in three armed robberies, including one caught on surveillance video in which the cashier disarmed him.
Edgar Moreno Rios, 30, was arrested by Officers Anthony Abrams and Alberto Valles in the string of crimes in the city's Lower Chelsea area.
Patrol officers responded Dec. 26 to the AC Convenience Store in the 4000 block of Ventnor Avenue for a report of an armed robbery.
A surveillance photograph was released to the public asking for assistance in identifying the individual.
Through an investigation by detectives and with help from the public, Rios was identified and arrested Wednesday night in the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Efaj Ahmed, 17, was working at his father's store when the attempt was made. He told BreakingAC that he saw a chance to take the gun when the suspect laid it on the counter.
The teen posted the video on his Facebook page, and shared it with BreakingAC.

He is jailed on three counts each of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Rios is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
